(Horn Lake, Mississippi) A 32-year-old local woman, Beverly Dee Bartlett, has been arrested for allegedly engaging in months-long sex with a 15-year-old boy. She faces a charge of statutory rape.
Lt. Scott Evans said that though the relationship appears to have been consensual - Mississippi's age of consent is 14 - state law prohibits anyone 17 or older from having sex with a child between 14 and 16 and at least 36 months younger than them.Bartlett was booked into custody at the Desoto County Jail with bail set at $150,000.
