Arkansas Teacher Accused of Sex with Male Student

(Van Buren, Arkansas) A chemistry teacher at Van Buren High School, Christina Nixon, has been arrested for allegedly engaging in sex with a male student.

She faces a charge of felony sexual assault.

Investigators said they believe the relationship with the student started several months ago and that the two had sex sometime in June. Police said the relationship initially started over Facebook and through phone texts.

Investigators also said no criminal acts took place on school grounds.

Nixon was booked into custody at the Crawford County Jail with bond set at $7,500.
