(Nashville, Tennessee) A 26-year-old 5th-grade teacher at LEAD Academy charter school, Natasha Kruithof, was arrested Thursday after police found an "elaborate" marijuana grow operation in her home.
Ms. Kruithof faces multiple drug charges as do her brother, David, and her boyfriend, Brian Day.
Officers were led to the marijuana grow operation by an overwhelming smell of pot in the neighborhood.
Police knocked on the door, and after getting a search warrant, they found 11 marijuana plants along with heat lamps, a ventilation system, drug paraphernalia, xanax without a prescription, and multiple handguns along with a rifle.Notably, the marijuana operation was spitting distance from Caldwell and Glen Elementary Schools.
Ms. Kruithof was booked into custody with bond set at $28,000.
