(Jacksonville, Florida) Last January, a 22-year-old local mother, Alexandra V. Tobias, was accused of shaking her 3-month-old baby to death for crying and interrupting her while she was playing a computer game on Facebook called FarmVille.
Police say during the first shaking, the baby's head may have hit the computer. On Wednesday of last week, Tobias pleaded guilty to second-degree murder of her baby.
Tobias then put the baby on the couch and stepped out for a cigarette to regain her composure, the arrest report says.
When she came back in, the family dog knocked the baby off the couch. The crying started again and Tobias shook the baby a second time before calling for an ambulance, the arrest report says.
Sentencing has been scheduled for December when Tobias faces a possible life term in prison.
