(Conroe, Texas) A 22-year-old teacher's aide at Magnolia West High School, Krystal Bernard, was arrested Wednesday for allegedly engaging in an improper relationship with a student by sexual contact.
The student reportedly attends MWHS.
An improper relationship with a student by sexual contact is a second-degree felony, punishable by a prison term of two to 20 years and a fine up to $10,000.Bernard was booked into custody and later released on $5,000 bond.
An improper relationship with a student by sexual contact is defined by the state Penal Code as when an employee of a public or private primary or secondary school comes in contact with a student improperly.
First Assistant District Attorney Phil Grant confirmed Bernard’s arrest and said the DA’s Office has up to 90 days to seek an indictment with a grand jury.
