Arkansas Teacher Accused of Sex with Student

(Heber Springs, Arkansas) A 25-year-old substitute teacher at Heber Springs High School, Kimberly D. Cagle, has been accused of engaging in sex with a 17-year-old male student. Cagle faces a charge of second-degree sexual assault.

According to Detective Keith Douglass, Cagle and the boy met when both were employed at the Red Apple Inn.

“She said while she was a substitute teacher she saw the 17-year-old at the school and that one evening after work she and the teen went to her friend’s house.”

Cagle reported that while she and the teen were at the house they had sex. “She told me she knew it was wrong and that she made a mistake.”

The teen was questioned and confirmed Cagle’s story about the encounter.

School Superintendent Russell Hester said Cagle is no longer a substitute teacher.
