(Eton, Georgia) A 25-year-old teacher at Mountain Creek Academy, Erica Griffin, was arrested last Friday for possession of cocaine and marijuana.
The school is an alternative facility for at-risk students in grades six through 12.
On Friday, Whitfield County deputies responded to a complaint of a marijuana smell coming from a car in the driveway of a home on Dot Crescent Drive in Dalton, a police report states.[…]Griffin was booked into custody at the Whitfield County Jail and released Saturday on $3,000 bond. She resigned her teaching position on Monday.
When deputies arrived, Griffin was inside her blue Toyota Celica and the males were seen running into the woods, the report shows.
Police said Griffin was arrested after a deputy spotted a bag of marijuana on the passenger seat of the Toyota.
When questioned, Griffin said she "did not know any of the male subjects and that she was going to give them a ride," according to police. She also told police she wasn't sure why she was at the house on Dot Crescent, the report states.
