(Bentonville, Arkansas) Former Bentonville High School teacher’s aide Mandy Flynn, 33, pleaded guilty yesterday to engaging in sex with a 17-year-old special education student.
Flynn pleaded guilty because prosecutors offered her a lesser felony charge, said Bonnie Bridges, Benton County deputy prosecutor.Flynn resigned her teaching position when she was initially arrested.
Benton County Circuit Court Judge Jon Comstock sentenced Flynn to 28 days of house arrest with an ankle monitor, despite prosecutors’ suggestion that Flynn serve the time in jail.
Flynn will also be required to register as a sex offender, and she will spend the next four years under probation.
