Scottish Knife-Crime Policy

(Glasgow, Scotland) After the government imposes controls to ban guns because "guns kill people," a logical consequence is that the government must also impose controls on knives because "knives kill people" too.
Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill has defended the Scottish Government’s knife-crime policy in the wake of the second knife killing in Lanarkshire in less than a week.

“Far too many lives have been lost through knife and alcohol-fuelled violence. What is clear is there is a problem, but it is being tackled.

“Fewer people are carrying knives – but it is still too many. More are being caught and those who are, go to prison for longer periods.”
Note that the knife crime policy in Scotland makes it illegal to carry a knife without good reason.
