(Glasgow, Scotland) After the government imposes controls to ban guns because "guns kill people," a logical consequence is that the government must also impose controls on knives because "knives kill people" too.
Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill has defended the Scottish Government’s knife-crime policy in the wake of the second knife killing in Lanarkshire in less than a week.Note that the knife crime policy in Scotland makes it illegal to carry a knife without good reason.
“Far too many lives have been lost through knife and alcohol-fuelled violence. What is clear is there is a problem, but it is being tackled.
“Fewer people are carrying knives – but it is still too many. More are being caught and those who are, go to prison for longer periods.”
