Women Claim Prosecutor Gave Leniency for Sex

(Rogersville, Tennessee) Five women claim that former Hawkins County Prosecutor Doug Godbee traded leniency in court for sex. Attorney Robert Whitaker has filed civil lawsuits on their behalf.

An investigation has been launched by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI).
Four of the plaintiffs were drug crime defendants, and the fifth was the mother of a drug crime defendant.

Three of the five women claim they had sex with Godbee, and they are each seeking monetary awards of between $150,000 and $300,000.
Interestingly, Godbee had job difficulties in 2006 and 2010 for alleged sexual misconduct.
