Tennessee Teacher Accused of Raping Student

(Gibson County, Tennessee) A 36-year-old health sciences teacher at Gibson County High School, Bethany Dyer, has been accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with a student.

Dyer faces charges of aggravated statutory rape and statutory rape by an authority figure.

According to the warrants, Dyer, who lives in Rutherford, is accused of having sexual intercourse with a teenage male student three times between May 2009 and October 2010.

Dyer used her position of trust and authority as a teacher to entice the student to have sex with her, according to the warrant.

Reportedly, Dyer has checked herself into a medical treatment facility. Warrants for her arrest will be exercised upon her release from treatment.
