Texas Teacher Accused in Student Sex Case

(Fort Worth, Texas) A 39-year-old marketing teacher at Lake Travis High School in Austin, Cristina McCann aka Christina McCann, has been accused of engaging in an improper relationship with a student.

McCann accompanied a group of students during a February trip and allegedly had a sexual encounter with an 18-year-old student in a Fort Worth hotel room.

Once school staff learned about the allegations on May 5, McCann was placed on paid leave and the Travis County Sheriff’s Office was alerted.

McCann resigned on May 12.

Fort Worth police took over the investigation due to the location of the incident. On Friday, officers issued a warrant for McCann’s arrest.

McCan has stated that she will surrender to the Fort Worth Police on Monday.
