California Woman Gets Life in Penis Lopping Case - Update

(Los Angeles, California) In April 2013, a Garden Grove CA woman, Catherine Kieu, was convicted of aggravated mayhem for cutting off her ex-husband's penis and throwing it into the garbage disposal.

Last week, Kieu was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole in seven years.

Kieu, 50, was convicted in the July 2011 attack in which prosecutors said she drugged her ex-husband's meal with a sleep aid, then severed his penis with a knife after tying him to a bed. She then mutilated the penis by throwing it in the garbage disposal.

The victim was in court for Friday's sentencing.

"I'm hoping this will be the last time I ever have to see her," he said. "I felt some relief, and it was a very sad day for me."

Kieu reportedly refused to accept that her husband was divorcing her so she cut him.

(Los Angeles, California) This week, the trial of alleged penis slicer and mangler Catherine Kieu Becker, 50, began.

"You deserve it!"

That's what Catherine Kieu Becker yelled before slicing off her 60-year-old husband's penis with a 10-inch kitchen knife, Orange County Deputy District Attorney John Christl claimed in his opening statements today.

The prosecutor added he knows that what the wife said before performing an act every wife has probably dreamed of at least once because of a voice-activated recorder in the bedroom where her drugged-up husband's arms and legs were tied to the four corners of the bed.

Deputy Public Defender Frank Bittar countered in his opening that Kieu's severely traumatic childhood in war-torn Vietnam, including being raped by her older brother, caused a mental illness that feeds into an insanity defense.

The trial continues.

Wife Lops Off Husband's Manhood

(Garden Grove, California) A 48-year-old local woman, Catherine Kieu Becker, has been arrested for allegedly whacking off her husband's tallywhacker. Becker faces a slew of charges.

According to Lt. Jeff Nightengale,

"The suspect called 911 and told responding officers that he 'deserved it,'" Nightengale said.

When officers arrived, they found the man tied to a bed and bleeding from the groin area. He told officers the woman had given him a drug in the dinner she had made for him.

Investigators said she tied him to the bed after he fell asleep. When he awoke, the woman grabbed his penis and cut it off with a 10-inch kitchen knife, according to police. She then threw it in the garbage disposal and turned on the disposal, police said.

The 51-year-old man was hospitalized at UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange. He was listed in serious condition. Pieces of the penis were taken to the hospital, but it remained unclear whether surgeons were able to reattach it.

Becker is in custody at the Orange County Jail.
