Troll Under the Bridge

(Spring Hill, Tennessee) A 56-year-old local man, Daniel Torroll, was detained after police this week witnessed him performing sex acts on a child-like doll later discovered to have holes bored into it.

When police arrived, Torroll was naked.
Officers were called to Allendale Elementary School on Prescott Way in Spring Hill amid reports of a white male with a duffle bag under a bridge on school property. The bridge provides access to the school from the main road.[…]

The officer reported the man was naked and in a location where he could be seen by people driving up to the school.
Torroll stated that he suffers from attention deficit disorder which makes him unable to resist certain sexual impulses. Who knew a toy doll could provoke uncontrollable sexual urges? I suspect it's an acquired preference.

In any event, Torroll was issued a citation for misdemeanor public indecency.

[Add.] Note that this story could be considered a instance where reality follows art. In the mid-1800s, a Norwegian fairy tale, Three Billy Goats Gruff, told the story of a fearsome troll who lives under a bridge and eats anyone who passes. The tale tells how the goats defeat the troll and live happily ever after.

Versions of the story have appeared in print, film and television ever since it first appeared. And it's even been linked to current politics.
On August 1, 2011, Stephen Colbert used the story in The Colbert Report as an analogy for the U.S. debt ceiling situation, with the Republican Party being represented by the goats and the administration of President Barack Obama by the troll.
Appropriate? Readers should decide.

Thanks to several tipsters.
