Georgia Teacher Accused of Cruelty

(Walton County, Georgia) A 31-year-old teacher at Loganville Middle School, Kelly Guglietta, has been accused of physical and verbal abuse of a sixth-grade student.

Guglietta faces felony charges of cruelty to children, terroristic threats and actions, and misdemeanor charges of assault, battery and simple battery.
“After conducting a very thorough investigation into this complaint, we did find that there was evidence that a crime had been committed,” said Loganville Police Department Lt. Mike Westbrooks, who served as the lead investigator in the case.

“We were able to confirm the child’s story that the teacher put a pair of scissors to her own throat and dragged it across in a threatening gesture and did grab him by his hoodie and attempt to pull him out of his seat.”

Guglietta reportedly took issue with a comment made about a large amount of gel in her hair.
Guglietta was booked into the Walton County Detention Center and released on $8,000 bond.
