Illinois Woman Takes Son, 5, on Bank Heist

(Island Lake, Illinois) Late last month, a 30-year-old woman, Laurie L. Ruble, was arrested along with her boyfriend, Brandon D. Stancliff, 25, for armed robbery of the Wauconda Community Bank.

Astonishingly, it's now reported that Ruble had taken her five-year-old son with her to the heist. The boy was waiting in the getaway car.
Ruble walked into the bank and asked if employees could exchange coins for paper currency, police said. She left the bank and got into a blue Chevrolet Cavalier with Stancliff and then parked nearby, police said.

Stancliff then went into the bank, demanded money and threatened employees with a knife, police said. No customers were in the bank at the time and no one got hurt, Police Chief William McCorkle said.

Nearly $5,000 was stolen in the robbery, McCorkle said.
Child welfare officers are investigating the status of the boy. Ruble and Stancliff face charges in federal court.
