(Wellington, New Zealand) There's a nation-wide shortage of the sticky, dark-brown yeast spread known as Marmite. Panic-buying has emptied store shelves.
Reportedly, the Sanitarium company, sole supplier of Marmite in New Zealand, suffered earthquake damage to its factory, necessitating complete shutdown for repair. Production is expected to resume in July.
