Pennsylvania Teacher Gets Prison in Sex Case - Update

(Norristown, Pennsylvania) Nicole Jacques, 27, has been sentenced to 11½ to 23 months in prison after pleading guilty to a felony charge of corruption of minors.

(Hatfield, Pennsylvania)

Nicole Jacques, 26, of Hatfield Township, pleaded guilty to a felony charge of corruption of a minor.

Jacques, who had been employed at Calvary Baptist School but later resigned, entered an open plea, which means there is no agreement between the prosecution and defense on a sentence.

Montgomery County Judge Wendy Demchick Alloy, who accepted the plea, postponed sentencing until Jacques undergoes a Megan’s Law sexually violent predator assessment as well as an evaluation as to her suitability for a house-arrest sentence. Also, the judge directed the adult probation office to conduct a presentence investigation on Jacques’ background and that Jacques undergo a psychiatric/psychological evaluation.

When those reports are completed, the judge will set a sentencing date.

Jacques faces a possible seven years in prison when sentenced. Meanwhile, she remains free on bail.

(Hatfield, Pennsylvania) A 25-year-old teacher formerly at Calvary Baptist School in Lansdale, Nicole Jacques, has been accused of engaging in sex with a 15-year-old male student.

Jacques faces multiple counts of involuntary sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, corruption of a minor and unlawful contact with a minor.

Police say, through their investigation, they learned Jacques met the teen while she worked at the Calvary Baptist School, but resigned in 2011.

Following her resignation, police said, Jacques still continued to communicate with the victim and that was when the relationship turned sexual - with the encounters taking place at Jacques apartment.

Jacques was booked into custody with bail set at $50,000.
