(Rankin County, Mississippi) A 34-year-old algebra teacher at Richland High School, Stacy Walker, has been accused of engaging in sex with a 16-year-old male student. She was arrested Monday.
Walker faces a charge of sexual battery by a person in a position of trust or authority.
Police say the male student was 16 years old when the relationship started, and Walker has admitted to the accusations.Walker was booked into custody and released on $25,000 bond.
"Were just at the one student now," says Richland Chief Russel James. "Maybe three counts. There's always a possibility with this that other students may come forward."
Detectives are investigating allegations involving other students, according to the police department.
"She did cooperate. She did admit that there was inappropriate contact with the student," James said.
