New York Woman Guilty of Child Sex Abuse - Update
(Jefferson County, New York)
A jury deliberated Thursday and Friday for a total of about eight hours following a five-day trial before finding Nicole E. Hargis, 31, guilty of every count contained in two indictments against her.Sentencing is scheduled for February 2, 2015.
The indictments, one handed up in September 2013 and a second in March, alleged she abused the children, who ranged in ages from 10 to 16, from the fall of 2007 to June 2012.
The jury found her guilty of two counts of predatory sexual act against a child, 35 counts of second-degree criminal sex act, four counts of third-degree rape and three counts each of third-degree criminal sex act, second-degree rape and endangering the welfare of a child.
The two counts of predatory sexual assault against a child can carry a sentence of up to life in prison upon conviction.

(Jefferson County, New York) A 28-year-old local woman, Nicole E. Hargis, has been accused of engaging in sex with two teenage boys, ages 15 and 16.
The offenses allegedly occurred between January 2011 and June 2012.
Hargis has been charged with four counts of rape in the third degree, one count of rape in the second degree, one count of criminal sexual act in the third degree and sexual abuse in the second degree.Hargis was booked into custody with bond set at $15,000.
Hargis’ arrest stems from a complaint filed with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
