Ohio Teacher Guilty of Fraud

A former Van Wert City Schools teacher pleaded guilty Friday to a felony for her role in a crime committed against the schools.

Sandra Adams pleaded guilty to unauthorized use of property, a fifth-degree felony. She agreed to pay $13,224 in restitution to the school system. Treatment in lieu of conviction was granted and she was placed on probation.

Van Wert Police Department investigators conducted an investigation concerning the forgery of financial documents, the misuse of school property and the theft of money related to the yearbook fund, which Adams managed from 2008 to 2012, Van Wert Police reported.
