Weili Kao
(Sacramento, California) On December 3rd, 43-year-old Weili Kao pleaded no contest to the second-degree murder of her six-year-old stepdaughter Truly Lo. The death occurred six years after the initiating event - a severe beating.
Kao beat the little girl and grabbed her by the neck while disciplining her on May 11, 2004. The girl fell into a persistent vegetative state and Kao was convicted and sentenced the next year for felony child abuse.Sacramento Superior Court Judge Patrick Marlette sentenced Kao to 15 years to life in prison which will be added to her felony child abuse sentence.
Sacramento prosecutors filed murder charges agaisnt (sic) Kao after Lo died on Dec. 21, 2010.
