Kansas Teacher Accused of Drug Possession

(Newton, Kansas) A 45-year-old special education teacher at Newton High School, Eden Bloom, has been accused of drug possession at school.

Bloom faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, no tax stamp, criminal trespassing and obstruction.
According to Newton Police, 45-year-old Eden Bloom was asked to leave the school several times before a School Resource Officer arrested her.

That’s when they found methamphetamine in her possession.

“At the time of the incident no students were in danger,” said Newton Police Deputy Chief Eric Murphy.
Bloom was booked into custody at the Harvey County Jail and released on bond.
