(Milan, Italy) After a two-year trial, media tycoon and former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, 76, was convicted and sentenced yesterday to seven years in prison. However, he won't do any time until he exhausts his appeals.
Berlusconi was found guilty of paying for sex with former teenage nightclub dancer Karima El Mahroug, better known under her stage name "Ruby the Heartstealer", during alleged "bunga bunga" sex parties at his palatial home near Milan.Berlusconi will appeal and, reportedly, it could be years before the verdict is final.
