(Union County, Illinois) A 44-year-old Anna, Illinois woman, Karen Nichols, has been accused of kidnapping a newborn and armed robbery.Nichols faces one count of aggravated kidnapping and one count of armed robbery.
According to Union County State's Attorney Tyler Edmonds, a Johnston City, Illinois woman reported the kidnapping of her newborn child Friday night.
Nichols was booked into custody at the Jackson County Jail with bond set at $500,000. The Sheriff, State Police, and State's Attorney's Office continue investigating.
