Mouth Sewn to Protest Russian Persecution of Gays

(Berlin, Germany) A local drag queen, Barbie Breakout, has sewn her mouth shut to protest the persecution of homosexuals in Russia. A disturbing video, probably NSFW, is here.

Barbie Breakout is best known for her DJing work in Berlin nightclubs, and does not say anything on the video but simply produces a threaded needle and proceeds to pierce her lips and pull the cotton tight, sealing up her mouth.

Blood flows from the wound, and although she manages to keep a straight face for most of the ordeal, by the end she is wincing with pain.

Ms. Breakout hopes that more people will become aware of the situation in Russia and take direct action. It's recommended that there be a boycott of the 2014 Olympic Games with letters of protest to advertisers.
