Connecticut Teacher Accused of Sex with Student

(Newington, Connecticut) A 43-year-old special education teacher at Newington Transition Academy, Amy Belliveau, has been accused of engaging in sex with a 20-year-old special education student.

Belliveau was arrested last Friday and charged with sexual assault.

Police say a representative of the Newington Public School System notified police after she suspected an inappropriate sexual relationship between a student and a certified special education tutor.[...]

Belliveau, of New Britain, was arrested after an investigation revealed, between April and June 2013, she engaged in a sexual relationship with a 20-year-old student from the Newington Transition Academy.

Belliveau was booked into custody with bond set at $10,000.
