Gun-Maker Leaves New York for South Carolina

(Rochester, New York)
American Tactical Imports, based in Rochester, is moving its headquarters next month to Summerville in Dorchester County, S.C. — creating more than 100 new jobs in the area and shafting New York employees.

The company is also setting up a distribution center and a firearm assembly, and moving its customer service operations and sales office to the new site.

“This move to South Carolina will help ensure a solid foundation for our company,” Tony DiChario, president and founder of American Tactical Imports, said in a statement. “The people of South Carolina have welcomed ATI with open arms.”
The business and cultural environment in South Carolina is much nicer to gun-makers than New York.

I remember as a teen, Fruehaff Trailer moved down there cause labor was cheaper, but my dad didn't want to move there.

We here is Ohio tried to lure some of the gun factories to move here, but no word yet.
