West Virginia Teacher Accused of Sex with Girl, 13

(Mingo County, West Virginia) A mathematics teacher and coach at Matewan K-8, Jennifer L. Parsons, has been accused of engaging in sex with a 13-year-old female student.,

Parsons surrendered to police to face a charge of sexual abuse by a parent, custodian or guardian.
Troopers said multiple students have come forward, saying they've witnessed the allegations. They added that in an interview, the victim told them she and Parsons said they loved each other, that the teen told them she stayed at Parson's home on multiple occasions and rode in her car to get there. Other allegations include that the two burned each others love notes, and kissed for the first time inside the school, according to State Police.

At first, troopers said, Mrs. Parsons was the only suspect facing charges in this case, However, now they say additional charges are expected to be filed. This time, against her husband, John Parsons, for allegedly committing the same crimes. His victim, troopers said, is another 13-year-old student who troopers said just recently came forward.

Jennifer Parsons' charges were filed Wednesday.
Parsons was booked into custody at the Southwestern Regional Jail with bond set at $150,000.
