California Teacher Pleads Guilty to Sex with Minor - Update

Yucaipa schoolteacher Sheila Heacock, arrested on April 18, 2014 on five counts of having sex with a minor, changed her plea on one count on May 6, 2015 from not guilty to guilty.

Sentencing is scheduled for July.

(Yucaipa, California) A 44-year-old Spanish teacher at Yucaipa High School, Sheila Heacock, was arrested this week for an alleged inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old male student.

Heacock faces counts of oral copulation with a person under 18, penetration by foreign object with a person under 18, contact or communicate with a minor to commit offense and unlawful sexual intercourse.

On Thursday, April 17, 2014 detectives from the Crimes Against Children Detail, and personnel from the Yucaipa Sheriff’s Station contacted the 16-year-old male, who disclosed sexual abuse by Heacock.

The abuse allegedly began in January 2014 and the last incident occurred in March 2014.

Heacock was booked into custody at the Central Detention Center with bail set at $100,000.
