California Teacher Accused of Theft of Student's Meds
(Yolo County, California) A 40-year-old teacher at Delta Charter School in Clarksburg, Sheri Laverne Haselhuhn, has been accused of stealing a student’s prescription medication.
Haselhuhn faces charges of suspicion of burglary and possession of a controlled substance.
The Delta Charter principal called deputies to the school on Tuesday after school authorities learned that a student’s prescription medication had come up short. School officials said that the pills were kept in a locked cabinet in a room under video surveillance.Haselhuhn was booked and released on bail.
On Wednesday school officials told deputies they discovered something suspicious in their review of the video. A deputy responded and also viewed the video from April 28 that allegedly showed Haselhuhn removing medication and ingesting it.
