Florida Teacher Accused of Molesting Girl, 13

An Apopka teacher and her boyfriend were arrested Tuesday after police said they sexually abused a 13-year-old girl.

Kimberly Honaker, a sixth-grade language-arts reacher at Apopka Memorial Middle School, was relieved of duty after her arrest. The 17-year school-district employee is not allowed on campus during the police investigation and likely will have her pay suspended at the next School Board meeting, a district spokeswoman said.

According to a police report, Honaker, 48, and Robert Pruitt, 58, engaged in sexual activity with the girl.

Officers were tipped off by Pruitt's wife of 18 years, who found Facebook messages, texts and emails that alluded to an improper sexual relationship, the report states. The Pruitts lived together in Ocala until May 1, when he moved to Apopka to live with Honaker, an old flame, the report shows.

Both Honaker and Pruitt face charges of lewd and lascivious molestation.
