Kansas Truancy Officer Accused of Sex Crimes

(Atchison, Kansas) A truancy officer with the Leavenworth County Department of Juvenile Services, Heather Robinson, has been arrested on 11 counts of unlawful sexual relations with a minor.
According to Superintendent Dr. Susan Myers, Robinson was placed on administrative leave by her employer on May 7th, and has had no contact with the [Atchison] school district, or its students, since that time.

The decision by Robinson’s employer was apparently made based on an investigation by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.

Although authorities say the past alleged sexual activity with a 17-year-old male was consensual, state statute bars someone in Robinson’s capacity to engage in such a relationship.
Robinson was booked into custody at the Atchison County Jail and subsequently released on $50,000 bond.
