Kansas Truancy Officer Accused of Sex Crimes
(Atchison, Kansas) A truancy officer with the Leavenworth County Department of Juvenile Services, Heather Robinson, has been arrested on 11 counts of unlawful sexual relations with a minor.
According to Superintendent Dr. Susan Myers, Robinson was placed on administrative leave by her employer on May 7th, and has had no contact with the [Atchison] school district, or its students, since that time.Robinson was booked into custody at the Atchison County Jail and subsequently released on $50,000 bond.
The decision by Robinson’s employer was apparently made based on an investigation by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
Although authorities say the past alleged sexual activity with a 17-year-old male was consensual, state statute bars someone in Robinson’s capacity to engage in such a relationship.
