(Houston, Texas) A 23-year-old teacher at Stratford High School, Michelle Strickland, has been accused of engaging in sex with a male student.

Strickland was arrested and charged with improper relationship with a student.

Spring Branch ISD says Strickland, 23, served during the 2013-14 school year, and was removed from the classroom and away from contact with students following an investigation into an anonymous tip that she had an inappropriate relationship with an 18-year-old male band student.

Court documents state the teen said during the spring 2014 semester he engaged in sexual relations with Strickland in a storage room in the Stratford band hall.

Strickland has been fired from her teaching position.
