Illinois Woman Gets Prison in Child Sex Case

A Thomasboro woman who admitted that she knew her live-in boyfriend was sexually molesting young children in their care has been sentenced to eight years in prison.

Judge Heidi Ladd said Kristy J. Wines, 37, allowed and enabled the "acts of depravity" to continue in the home she shared with Lyn Niemann, 39, who is currently serving a life sentence for predatory criminal sexual assault of three young boys.

"All she had to do was intervene. ... Instead, she played on her (electronic) tablet. It is unimaginable how an adult could be so depraved and so callous," Ladd said.
