NM Woman Gets Prison in Boy Sex Case

Roxie Blair

(Carlsbad, New Mexico) A 39-year-old local woman, Roxie Blair, has been accused of improper sexual contact with a 14-year-old boy and sentenced to 11 years in prison.

Blair faced counts of criminal sexual penetration of a child 13- to 16-years-old, a fourth degree felony.
On Jan. 20 Fifth Judicial District Court Judge Raymond Romero, sentenced Blair to 1 year, 6 months in prison for the first count of the indictment. Blair received 18 months confinement for the other seven counts.

Blair was arrested in Arizona in February 2014 after police said she fled Carlsbad after she was accused of having sex with the boy.

The boy she was found guilty of molesting was living in the same household as Blair, police said at the time of her arrest. Blair was allegedly providing home care services to the minor's father.
The prosecutor dismissed 19 counts of criminal sexual penetration.
