Illinois Teacher Faces Sex Charges

(Lake County, Illinois) A 33-year-old music teacher at Webster Middle School, Briana Travis, has been accused of having a sexual relationship with a minor.

Police say a tip from a parent about inappropriate texting between a student and Travis led them to the Webster Middle School music teacher.

When Waukegan police detectives interviewed Travis, she confessed to having an inappropriate relationship with another minor, authorities said.

Travis faces counts of criminal sexual assault. Bond has been set at $1,000,000.
