The jury trial, which was to take place this week, has been rescheduled for Nov. 15-18 in Franklin County District Court, 301 S. Main St., Ottawa, according to the court calendar. District Judge Douglas P. Witteman is scheduled to hear the case.“The request for continuance came from the defense, and the State did not object,” Stephen A. Brannan, with her attorney John Boyd, pleaded not guilty to the felony charge at an arraignment hearing in March.The boy, who has since turned 16, said smoking marijuana and having sex with Brannan began in June 2015 and ended mid-July, according to Herald archives. He said the sexual relationship started during the time his mother allowed Brannan to stay at their home when she was going through a falling out with her ex-husband, according to past reports
