USS Jimmy Carter

(Groton, Connecticut) Yesterday, the last Seawolf-class nuclear attack submarine was christened the USS Jimmy Carter. It's about 450 feet long, longer than other attack boats due to a hull extension, and it's designed to carry torpedoes and cruise missiles.

Excuse me for being flippant, but naming a military weapons platform after Jimmy Carter makes as much sense as naming a nuclear power plant after Ralph Nader.
