Death Row Bali Bomber Writes Autobiography
(Jakarta, Indonesia) Convicted and sentenced to death, Bali bomber Imam Samudra has completed a 280-page autobiography to justify his role in the terrorist murders of 202 people in October 2002. The book's publisher, Bambang Sukirno, said the initial printing of 5,000 has been distributed and the book is available for about $4 in parts of Indonesia. Samudra, having shown only defiance during court appearances and no remorse over the nightclub bombings, was sentenced to death in September 2003 with no date specified for his execution.
This news is troubling, especially when coupled with the recent report that one of Samudra's terrorist comrades, Ali Imron, enjoyed himself on an outing in public even though he was sentenced to life in prison. I fear that justice may not be served to these terrorists.
