Muslim Sheik in Custody for Immigration Violation

(El Paso, Texas) Sheik Yaser Hasan Mustafa Issa of the Islamic Center of El Paso was taken into custody by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) authorities Thursday for "an administrative immigration violation." Issa has been the center's religious leader for five years.

According to Leticia Zamarripa, spokesperson for ICE, the imam will be able to contest the charges against him before an immigration judge. Sheik Issa is expected to see a judge in two weeks.

I suspect there's more than a "paperwork glitch" involved in the imam's case.
