Spanish Arrest 17 Terrorists

Spanish police have arrested at least 17 suspected Islamic terrorists for alleged recruitment and indoctrination of so-called "holy warriors" to be sent to fight in Iraq, officials say.

"There are at least 17 people arrested," a government source told CNN.

Tuesday's arrests broke up a terrorist cell that was based in the town of Vilanova y la Geltru, near Barcelona, a national police spokesman said.

Spanish Interior Minster Jose Antonio Alonso told the SER radio network that the operation was ongoing and that more arrests were possible.
