Warning To Those Who Insult Islam

(Kuala Lumpur) A Malaysian Government Minister, Datuk Seri Mohd Nazri Abdul Aziz, warned that the authorities would not hesitate to use the Sedition Act against those who insult Islam. Recent articles written by non-Muslim journalists have concerned the followers of the religion of peace. As a result, a coalition of dozens of Muslim NGOs issued a memorandum to Parliament supporting enforcement of Islamic Family Law.

The memorandum prompted Minister Nazri Abdul Aziz to state:
"I want to remind non-Muslims to refrain from making statements on something they do not understand."
Interpretation: "something they do not understand" means "anything we don't like." Nazri also stated that current laws are sufficient to punish those who insult Islam.
"We do not want to take away your rights but religion is an important matter, especially to the Muslims," he said.
And, as Nazri tells everyone to expect punishment when an insult is directed toward Islam, he brazenly discusses tolerance.
He said there was also no need to have a law to curb open discussions as the people could practise mutual respect, tolerance and understanding while taking into consideration religious sensitivities.

On whether non-Muslim journalists should not write about issues concerning Islam, Nazri said they should know what they could or could not write.

"However, there are some things which should not be touched on," he said.
What a load! The followers of the religion of peace ignore the concepts of mutual respect, tolerance, and understanding completely. They also embrace truth, facts, and simple logic as closely as they would a pig.

Considering the fact that the U.S. does considerable business with Malaysia, I think that it would be prudent for American traders to be cognizant of the growing fundamentalist Muslim movement in the country.
