(Boston, Massachusetts) State Sen. Jarred Barrios has attached an amendment to a school nutrition funding bill which bans Marshmallow Fluff from school cafeterias.
From TheBostonChannel.com:
"My son came home the other day and we had a debate because he wanted a Fluffernutter. I said no, and he said he could get it every day at school," Sen. Jarred Barrios said.I guess that Massachusetts politicians quite loosely define what constitutes a debate.
"The real issue is what we are doing in our schools to promote healthy eating," Barrios said.Obviously, the kid now is going to make all his schoolmates suffer because he decided to "debate" his dad. He'll probably get beat up.
Nevertheless, before lawmakers even vote on the issue, the Cambridge School System has taken proactive action and announced that the dangerous substance will no longer be on the menu.
