Lesbian Teacher Arrested for Sex with Student

(Malvern, Arkansas) A 30-year-old science teacher at Malvern High School, Heather E. Carter, was arrested and charged with sexual assault for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old female student.

The relationship was exposed after witnesses found a suspicious letter from the student to Carter. Superintendent Ron Holt confronted the student and Carter and both ultimately admitted to the relationship. Carter subsequently resigned from her position with the school.

After booking, Carter was released on $3,000 bond. Arraignment has been scheduled for June 21st in Hot Springs County Circuit Court. If convicted of second-degree sexual assault, Carter faces a possible 20 years in prison and a $15,000 fine.
