Two German Journos Murdered in Afghanistan
(Baghlan Province, Afghanistan) In a generally calm area northwest of Kabul, two journalists working as freelancers for Deutsche Welle, Karen Fischer, 30, and Christian Struwe, 38, were murdered in their tent early yesterday morning.
According to Said Ekramuddin Massumie, governor of Baghlan Province, about six people are suspects believed to have been directly involved in the murders. A motive has not been revealed.
A Taliban spokesman, Kari Yussuf Ahmadi, stated that they didn't do it. "We only attack Americans and their supporters," he said. He didn't mention infidels so I think he's lying.
Condolences to the families of Karen Fischer and Christian Struwe.
