Opinion: Rape Benefits Ugly Women

(New Britain, Connecticut) Written by John Petroski, an opinion piece in The Recorder, the newspaper for Central Connecticut State University, has resulted in protest and, subsequently, contrition.

Ostensibly meant to be satire, the article headlined "Rape Only Hurts If You Fight It" contended that rape is positive for Western civilization and benefits "ugly women."

An angry student protest resulted, calling for Petroski's and editor Mark Rowan's resignations. Instead, they apologized.
