Youth Counselor Guilty of Corrupting Boy
(Fargo, North Dakota) Last January, a 28-year-old teen counselor, Kimberly Nack, was accused of engaging in sexual misconduct with a 16-year-old boy she met at the Luther Hall Treatment Center in Fargo. Nack was also employed as a truant officer for the Morehead School District in Minnesota. Nack was charged with felony sexual assault and harboring a runaway minor.
In accordance with a plea agreement, Nack pleaded guilty yesterday to a misdemeanor charge of corruption or solicitation of a minor. In return, the prosecution dropped the charge of felony sexual assault.
East Central District Court Judge Wade Webb ordered a presentence evaluation before Nack is sentenced. The sentencing date hasn't been established. Nack may be required to register as a sex offender.
The charge of harboring a runaway still has to be adjudicated. Nack pleaded not guilty to that charge.
In the meantime, Nack is free on $10,000 bond.
[Update 09/12/07]
