School Bus Driver Guilty in Drug Case
(Columbus, Ohio) A 53-year-old bus driver for Columbus city schools, Lawrence Battle, pleaded guilty yesterday to possession of cocaine. Police found a cocaine-filled syringe on Battle's bus when he was pulled over for a traffic violation last January. He was on his way to pick up children at the end of the school day.
Sentencing is scheduled for October 10th in Franklin County Common Pleas Court. Battle faces a possible year in prison and a $2,500 fine.
