Chinese Blankets Recalled

Chinese-made blankets distributed in Australia and New Zealand have been found to contain dangerous levels of formaldehyde. A voluntary recall has been launched by distributors. China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, is investigating.

Tests for formaldehyde in the blankets found levels which exceed U.S. and European limits. Australia and New Zealand have not established standards as yet.

Given the variety and quantity of problems, a cloud is developing over all Chinese products.
